Berlin on my mind...

…from one of my favorite bloggers, whose photos never fail to mesmerize me. I have been meaning to share this post for a while now. For some reason Berlin has been on my mind, and when I stumbled on Narumi’s post it couldn’t have been more perfectly timed. I can’t explain why, besides visiting briefly one summer I know very little about the place, but I can’t help but think a I think a year in Berlin would be so magical. Little dreams…

Gros Bisous.

Big City Girl…

Sometimes I wonder what my life would be like if I hadn’t grown up in a big city like Los Angeles. What if I had grown up somewhere away from the spotlight of Hollywood, somewhere less affected by popular culture? Would I be less adventurous? More apt to stay close to home? Is adventure something we are born with, or bred into us?

Too much to ponder this evening? Oh yes, that’s right, it’s Friday. Kick off your shoes, grab a glass of vino, ponder or don’t ponder, but remember the weekend is only just beginning. Get out there and adventure. I sure plan to! Gros bisous. -K

Modes of Transportation: Train, Car, & Subway

Weather: Sunny Saturday, Rainy Sunday…

Highlights: Good People, Great Art (I’m talking about my amazing host Kenji)

Lesson Learned: Rest-up, late nights jamming are inevitble, better rested than exhausted come the last set ;)

In a Sentence: Little city, big heart!

I’ll be visiting this little city again in a few weeks, so I’ll be sure to snap a quick pic when I’m there. Bisous.

Adventuresome Me

So these past few months I have been trying to embrace my adventuresome side, from Boston to Limoges, Paris to London, I’ve really made a point of getting around. I shared some of my Versailles adventures, but I owe you many more adventuresome photos and reflections so I will begin sharing them over theses next few weeks. Starting with my most recent journey, a weekend visit to Boston… photo diary to follow. Until then, keep your chin up! Gros Bisous. -K

“vous êtes élégant” from Coco Before Chanel. One of my favorite moments in thé film, when Boy says to Coco, “you are elegant,” as she sits pjs on, hair tousled from having just woken up, and her face untouched. Words I think every woman should hear from her man, well at least once in a lifetime. Don’t you agree?

One things for sure, I could watch this scene over and over. Gros Bisous.

When you stop being stressed that things might be happening somewhere else and you are not a part of them, you realize that what you do right here is important.

While I was admittedly sad to leave France after my recent trip (photos and stories to come - promise!) the white blossoms sprouting up on all the trees helped to soften the blow! Aren’t they just so cheerful?

Happy Friday! Gros Bisous.

As I await my final flight home, after a little over two weeks of adventures behind me, I find myself wondering how time can fly by so quickly? Can’t I go back, even if just for a day? But then I realize that although I may be sad, I have to remember to be grateful for even having had this adventure at all. I am so very lucky to have the opportunity to travel, and the friends, old and new, who made this journey so unforgettable.

So while I’m off to the office in the am, instead of being sad it’s over, I plan to smile all day just knowing it happened at all. Gros bisous.

I have been to many beautiful places, from the remains of palaces long forgotten in Morocco and the picturesque canals of Venice to the emerald green pastures of Ireland and the vineyards of Bordeaux.  All breathtaking in their own wonderful ways, but for moi, nothing steals my heart like Versailles.

I’ve now visited the estate four times, each visit unique, each with it’s own discoveries and special memories. This last time I finally made it into Marie Anotinette’s “Petit Trianon” and caught the sunset as the gates were closed.  I will not even begin to share all the photos I took, but more than the photos I will always remember the reactions of my first-timer sisters that joined us.  They were skeptical of this “Versailles place,” but ultimately that is what made the whole experience unforgettable.

The looks on their faces watching the sun set over the canal and the excitement they found in exploring Marie Antoinette’s “little” (only in comparison) estate was priceless.  I promised they would return, as we only brushed the surface of what Versailles has to offer.

Still on the agenda, renting rowboats and watching the sunrise with champagne and macaroons - it’ll happen some day my sweets sisters, someday. Until then, photos to dream on my little dreamers…

Bisous.

Sometimes when you have a million things you should be doing, it makes perfect sense to ignore all of it and spend the afternoon with friends. It just does.

… Words from one of my favorite bloggers Oliva, of everyday musings - resonating so much right now as I look at my email after 4 days completely detached from the world. Couldn’t agree more Olivia, sometimes it just does make perfect sense.

I arrived à Limoges to my sweet Katy’s apartment last night. Couldn’t be happier to enjoy the simple life after a whirlwind of a weekend in Paris. Many photos and stories to come.
